How we handle your personal data

1. Who we are

  • SmoothRide Car Rental, Aglantzias 81, Aglantzia 2112, Nicosia, Cyprus, is the data controller for the personal data you provide.

2. What we collect

  • Booking details — your name, email, phone number, rental dates, chosen vehicle and extras.
  • Driver details — driving licence and identity information needed to complete the rental agreement at pickup.
  • Payment information — card payments are processed securely by our payment provider (Viva Wallet). We do not store full card numbers.
  • Technical data — basic, non-identifying information your browser sends when you visit the site.

3. Why we use it

  • To process and manage your booking and rental agreement.
  • To take payment and the security deposit, and to issue refunds.
  • To contact you about your booking and provide customer support.
  • To meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.

4. Legal basis

  • Performance of your rental contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in running the business — in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

5. Who we share it with

  • Our payment provider (Viva Wallet) and our booking/fleet system, strictly to complete your rental.
  • Authorities or insurers where required by law (for example, traffic fines or accident claims).
  • We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.

6. How long we keep it

  • We keep booking and rental records only as long as necessary for the rental and to meet legal and accounting requirements, after which they are securely deleted.

7. Your rights

  • You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict certain processing.
  • To exercise any of these rights, email info@smoothride.cy.
  • You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.

8. Cookies

  • We use only the cookies necessary for the website and booking to work. We do not use advertising trackers.
